Dear
Valued Customer,
I would like to personally thank each and every one of you
who have continued to be an ISP member since the beginning of
our Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service.
As most of you already know, CSC has over a decade of experience
in the telecommunications industry and it has certainly shown
that over the past couple of years. When CSC set out to offer
Dial-Up Internet service, it had to be nothing but the best.
We needed to be able to cover the local area better than anyone
out there, as well as provide national coverage and we have
since succeeded in doing both. We had started out by researching
and developing a service that would be the most reliable, fastest
Dial-Up service around and would not offer it to our customers
until it was the best service possible.
I knew a time would come when Dial-Up Internet Access would become a thing of the past as Cable, DSL and Satellite Internet Access Services become readily available to customers in our service market. Due to higher than projected rate increases in servicing these markets with Dial-Up Access, I have decided to close our Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access service at the end of 2008 (12/31/2008).
On Sunday, August 31, 2008, Center State Communications will no longer
accept new subscribers for our Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service.
Our current subscriber base will continue to receive access to our reliable Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service, 24/7 Technical
Support, access to their @cschome.net hosted email until the closure of our Nationwide Dial-Up Internet
Access service. The disabling of these system-wide services
represents the first phase of our planned service closure scheduled
for December 31, 2008.
On Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - Center State Communcations will no long support its TurboNOW Internet Acceleration service. CSC ISP's TurboNOW service was originally scheduled to run until the closure of our ISP services, however due to our third party software vendor breaching our contract, I was left with no choice but to close this service early. If you currently have the TurboNOW software installed on your computer, please un-install it as it may impact your ability to browse the Internet.
Many of you may be asking yourself: Is CSC closing all of its services or is the Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service the only service being affected in our planned service closure?... The only service being phased out from our long list of communication services is the Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service. Commercial, Non Profit and Personal Web Design, Web Hosting, Domaine Name Email Solutions, Domain Name Registration, Domain Name Transfers, Parked Domains, and many of our other services will continue to function after the closure of CSC's Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service.
Center State Communications plans on releasing several new services that will be included in phase two of our planned service changes. The second phase of service changes is scheduled for release Q2 of 2009. Please stay tuned to www.centerstate.net and www.cscdomains.net for a list of service additions.
One thing that I always worry about when changing service providers
is what I will do about my email address since everyone that
I need to be in contact with has my current email address on
file. CSC knows that all to well and as most of you know, CSC partnered with Google and their Google Apps Service a couple of months ago. This partnership agreement has allowed us to continue offering your @cschome.net email addresses for free and you may keep them as long as you want even after our ISP services have been halted on 12/31/08. If you would
prefer not to have your email service continue after our ISP services have been halted, please contact us via email (support@centerstate.net) or telephone (1-800-880-9853, Ext. 201) to request that your email account be removed.
Before I close CSC's Nationwide Dial-Up Internet Access Service,
I want to let you know that CSC will be helping each and every
one of you to find a new Internet Access Service provider. Sometime
in November you will receive an email from me indicating
what Internet Access Service providers are available in your
area. I have personally researched several ISP's throughout
the country and verified that each of those companies available to you offer an award winning
Internet Access Service. I am certain that you will be happy
with the selections made available to you. Rest assure that
CSC is determined to make this changeover as easy as possible.
If the Internet Access Service providers listed in your personal
letter cannot provide the best possible service, please contact
our corporate officevia telephone at 1-800-880-9853 for assistance.
Thank you for being a CSC ISP customer! CSC remains committed
to providing you with exceptional customer service throughout
this transition. Stay tuned to our web site as we will be providing
additional information on the closure of the CSC ISP Service.
Sincerely,
Scott A.
